Ruoyu has broad interests in statistical genetics and computational biology. She graduated with a PhD in Bioinformatics and an MS in Statistics from Georgia Institute of Technology, where she and her CRISPR colleagues developed a CRISPR/Cas9-based medium-throughput eQTL screening technology, expression CROP-seq, with single-cell RNA-seq as output. Passionate about transforming genomic data to drug target identification, she then joined the human genetics group at Biogen, where she worked on target identification in neuropsychiatric disorders by leveraging the whole-exome sequencing data in large-scale biobanks. At Dewpoint, she, as a statistical geneticist, is translating human genetics into therapeutics.
