Myrto is originally from Greece, where she earned a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Αthens. She joined Dewpoint Therapeutics in the summer of 2022 after graduating from Brown University with a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering under the mentorship of Dr. Nicolas Fawzi.
During her doctoral research, Myrto received a hybrid training in biochemistry, NMR, and molecular modeling. Her doctoral thesis focused on the biophysical rulesets governing the interactions of the archetypal RNA/DNA-binding protein Fused in Sarcoma (FUS) with condensate-modifying molecules and RNA. In addition, Myrto made an impact in understanding the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic by unraveling the role of phase separation in the assembly of the SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid protein.
At Dewpoint, Myrto seeks to apply her extensive experience in biology of condensates to drive the advancement of drug development against condensate-modulated diseases that present unexploited therapeutic opportunities.
