Ina Poser is a senior scientist for cell applications and assay development at Dewpoint Therapeutics. Before joining the Dewpoint team in March 2019, Ina was staff scientist and project manager at the Max-Planck-Institute of Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) in Dresden, Germany. She began her 15-year career at MPI-CBG as a postdoc working at the screening facility. Soon, after joining the Tony Hyman lab, Ina was leading a team of 2-3 research assistants generating stable BAC transgenic Hela cell lines in high throughput as part of the EU-funded projects MitoCheck and MitoSys. Additionally, she was closely involved in the Hyman lab’s ALS project, including iPS modification using CRISPR/Cas9, optimization of cell differentiation protocols to obtain motor neurons, and stress assays.

Ina began her scientific career by studying for her Diplom-Biology in her hometown of Jena in Germany, then moving to Rostock on the Baltic Sea to complete her studies. There, she also studied marine biology and became acquainted with cell culture applications by doing her diploma thesis on the influence of asbestos on human primary mesothelial cells. Next, she moved to Aachen, starting her PhD work at the University Hospital Aachen, focused on the molecular mechanisms of melanoma progression and metastasis, including cell-based in vitro and in vivo models. To complete her PhD, Ina moved to Regensburg in Germany along with her former boss, Prof. Anja Bosserhoff, to start and build up a new lab at the University Hospital Regensburg. After doing another postdoc year in Regensburg, Ina moved to Dresden to start work at the MPI-CBG.
