Chandrav completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in microbiology from University of Calcutta in India. During his studies and working in an infectious disease lab in India, he characterized the spectrum of opportunistic infections in AIDS patients in Eastern India. Chandrav moved to the USA to pursue his PhD in microbiology and immunology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. During his graduate school, he characterized and identified the mechanism of action of a new L-nucleoside anti-viral compound (CSK 101; After finishing his graduate school, Chandrav joined the Institute of Global Health and Infectious Diseases at UNC Chapel Hill to further study the role of the innate and adaptive immune system against controlling viral diseases. His research led to the development of novel pre-clinical small animal models to study human tropic viral pathogenesis, the characterization of adaptive immune responses and the pre-clinical evaluation of anti-viral small molecule inhibitors and biologics. After a fruitful training at UNC Chapel Hill in infectious diseases, Chandrav joined a cancer immunotherapy lab at UNC Charlotte to develop and characterize novel immunotherapies in vitro and in vivo against solid tumors. In his pursuit to expand his scientific horizons, Chandrav decided to join Dewpoint Therapeutics to understand the biology of condensates and how it can be used for developing novel targets against various diseases.
