Originally from Florida, Marty attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She moved to Boston for graduate school at Harvard Medical School, studying the biochemistry of the enzyme gamma-secretase and the effects of familial Alzheimer’s disease-causing mutations on its activity.
Her postdoctoral work at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston focused on iPSC disease modeling to study neurodegenerative features of Christianson syndrome, an X-linked neurodevelopmental disorder. After her postdoc, Marty worked at Vesalius Therapeutics for about a year and a half, and she is thrilled to now be a part of Dewpoint.
Outside of work, Marty loves spending time with her family and traveling.
