Kathrin Nenz

Kathrin has always been fascinated by the too-small-for-the-naked-eye things going on in healthy and diseased cells. Therefore, she chose to do bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Life Science – Cells and Molecules to gain a deeper understanding of how cells work. She aims to use this knowledge to manipulate and exploit the underlying mechanisms to produce biomolecules for different purposes and target diseased cells.

After her studies, she joined the Cellular Therapy group at Hannover Medical School, focusing on the generation of hypoimmunogenic cells, tissues, and organs for transplantation. Later, she moved to Hamburg to join Evotec to establish cellular assays to screen for drugs against rare diseases.
