We are searching for an experienced and hands-on finance professional to join our team as Staff/Sr. Accountant. This role will support the VP, Corporate Controller with day-to-day accounting functions along with all monthly close activities by ensuring all transactional entries are complete and accurate per close schedule timelines. The ideal candidate will have a self-motivating and agile approach to finding solutions, the passion for implementing process improvements and creating efficiencies to scale with the organization and have a collaborative and receptive communication style. You will be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will…

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and general accounting  & other related duties as assigned
  • Assist Controller with preparation and review of monthly financial statements including consolidation of foreign subsidiaries
  • Maintain the general ledger and be responsible for the clean audit trail of supporting documents for each transaction
  • Facilitate all Accounts Payable processes inclusive of administration of Bill.com, coding invoices, setting up new vendors, and reconciling accounts
  • Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly close journal entries and reconciling Balance Sheet schedules for Prepaids, Depreciation, Accruals, and other provision accounts
  • Reconcile all bank accounts monthly
  • Review and record bi-monthly payroll
  • Handle NetSuite reconciliation of all cash disbursement accounts, payroll, vendor accounts, and other financial accounts
  • Maintain detailed Fixed Asset register and Depreciation schedule by validating in service dates, asset retirement, and maintaining all supporting documentation for audits
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance in gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
  • Own the administration of Expensify for employees and reconciliation of expense reports within QuickBooks
  • Maintain internal accounting policies for internal controls and GAAP accounting practices

To do that you will need…

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent business experience)
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Proven proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to multitask and own multiple projects independently while working with deadlines
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately
  • Experience and comfortability in a fast paced, high volume, technical environment
  • To be a team player with the willingness to go above and beyond individual responsibilities:
    • A “people person” capable of establishing good personal relationships to understand the organizational needs beyond accounting
    • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership qualities in complicated situations and find creative solutions

It is nice but not essential that you also have…

  • Prior experience in a startup environment
  • Experience with NetSuite, Expensify and Bill.com are a plus
